Commonly known as Warty Swamp Frog it is known by other common names in different states:  Growling Grass Frog in Victoria and SA; Southern Bell Frog in NSW; and Green and Gold Frog in Tasmania. ground-dwelling tree frog, native to southeastern Australia, ranges from southern SA, along the Murray River through Victoria to NSW, populations in Tasmania. Associated with large swamps, permanent dams, ponds and lakes in woodland, parkland, scrubland, open and coastal areas.
