NORTHERN BARRED FROG

Large ground dwelling frog found in tropical northern Queensland. Inhabits dense rainforest close to fast flowing streams. Hides and hunts in leaf litter. Lays its eggs on the bank, rainwater washes them into the stream to hatch.

Australian ground dwelling frog. Found in rainforests, Antarctic beech forests or wet sclerophyll forests; breeds in streams and ponds; after eggs are laid in water female flicks them onto the bank for development, eggs get washed back into the stream with rain and hatch. Almost always found near water. East coasts of northern NSW and southern Queensland.
