Found in four separate locations: Atherton Tablelands (n Q), Clarke Ranges (mid-n Q), Ballina (NSW) to Tamborine NP (Q), and Ourimbah to Myall Lakes NP  (NSW), and around Port Macquarie. Associated with dam impoundments, ditches, swamps and still areas of streams in heathland, wet or dry sclerophyll forest, and rainforest.

Also known as Spotted Grass Frog. Terrestrial frog native to Australia; found throughout NSW and Victoria, eastern SA, most of Queensland and eastern Tasmania; introduced to WA. Associated with most habitats, including temporary or permanent dams and ditches, roadside ditches, ponds, flooded grassland, slow moving creeks in urban areas, farmland, woodland, coastal areas and arid areas.

Also known as Peron's Tree Frog, Emerald-speckled Tree Frog, Laughing Tree Frog and Maniacal Cackle Frog. Common frog of Halide family. Has ability to change colour in less than an hour. Found in forests, woodlands, scrubland and open areas often far from water.
