Also known as Round Frog. Range throughout Kimberley, WA, the northern 2/3 of NT, and east into nw Queensland. Found in diverse areas but mostly in poorly vegetated areas.

Confined to areas around Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Found in gorges, living among boulders near large permanent or temporary rock pools. Very little is known about its life cycle.

Found in grasslands in open country. Range arid WA and the NT extending to the extreme sw of Queensland. Breeds in flooded clay or sandy soils. Principally feeds on ants.

Also known as Spencer's Frog. Range central Western Australia and the Northern Territory, and the periphery of SA and sw Queensland. Mostly found in well-washed sand in creek beds. Breeds anytime after rain.

Also known as the Crucifix Toad. Ground dwelling, with little "spades" on feet to help with burrowing; can survive long periods underground with water stored in body. Exudes a 'glue' onto its skin when provoked. Found in southern Queensland and northern NSW.

Found in most states, except Victoria and Tasmania. Habitats include forests of tropical swamps to intermittent pools and lowland grass. Buries in sandy ground with-holding water to preserve itself until rain.
